Those who Return Victorious
Fantasy equal: Ares
The same camaraderie, brotherhood and spirit are shared between team players as was amongst soldiers of old. They shared in the trials and tribulations of war and battle. Some battles were lost. Some returned home Victorious. So is the way of War. With proper training, equipment and a good morale however, your chances of conquest is that much greater.
The resemblance between modern day sport and battalions of soldiers forms the basis of the following collection. Ahead of battle, preparations are made to face your enemy in combat. All soldiers are suited in armour, armed with a weapon of choice and briefed by their captain to build up morale and obtain tactical knowledge of the role you are to play in the upcoming battle. Various traditional rites are performed, not only when new members are initiated, but before and after battle as well. Many of which are performed in the nude. If you’re lucky, Roman or Turkish and were victorious, you may just have a gathering of camaraderie in one of the local baths!
Most war faring civilizations made offerings to the God of War. In Ancient Greece, this God was known as Ares. The Romans worshipped Mars and the Egyptians Sekhmet. Let’s stick with my favourite civilization and go for Ares as the Fantasy equal of the Victors from Battle.

“In Greek mythology, Ares (Ancient Greek: Ἄρης [á.rὲεs], Μodern Greek: Άρης ['a.ris]) is the son of Zeus and Hera. Though often referred to as the Olympian god of warfare, he is more accurately the god of bloodlust, or slaughter personified: "Ares is apparently an ancient abstract noun meaning throng of battle, war.”
